With every education-business link activity we aim to ‘Engage, Enthuse and Embed’ creating a long term legacy rather than just a one off experience.

Professional development with business & industry
Beacon East Broker and organise a wide range of exciting professional development opportunities for teachers, lecturers, advisers and other education professionals. This professional development largely focuses on providing Professional Development Placements (PDPs) in business and industry. In partnership with the IEBE (Institute for Education Business Excellence), Beacon East coordinates Royal Academy of Engineering STEPS at Work CPD programmes for East and London regions. This provides exciting opportunities for teachers & advisers to visit and learn from STEM (Science Technology, Engineering & Maths) linked business & industry. Working with a wide range of STEM partners across the regions, these CPD opportunities are open to all county areas. Beacon East also run CPD programmes sponsored by LSIS, STEM Net and Science Leaning Centres. We are keen to listen to any bespoke requests, this might range from a CPD programme for an individual teacher to an INSET day providing business & industry experiences for all staff.
